About Us
Memorji Minquxa was born from a simple conversation between my wife and I — one of those casual exchanges where dreams and aspirations are shared. Little did we know that this fleeting idea would ignite a passionate pursuit.
The term ‘Memorji Minquxa’, meaning ‘carved memories’ in Maltese, perfectly reflects our mission to create lasting impressions through photography.
My name is Christopher Formosa, and I am from the Mediterranean island of Malta. My love for photography began in my teenage years when I found joy in experimenting with various artistic mediums. However, as life progressed, the demands of raising three children with my wife, along with a busy career, meant that my passion for capturing moments had to be put on hold.
As our family embarked on adventures around the world and explored the stunning landscapes of Malta, I found myself increasingly drawn to the beauty around me. Each destination, from the rugged mountains of Iceland to the secluded beaches of Gozo, presented an opportunity to freeze a moment in time. Whether photographing European baroque architecture or the wonders of wildlife, I aimed to capture the essence of each place we visited.
During these travels, I discovered new techniques — capturing light in darkness and using long exposures to portray movement. These methods enabled me to create images that feel alive, even in stillness, carving a collection of moments in time.
As you explore our collection, I hope you experience the same sense of wonder and connection that I felt behind the lens.
Thank you for joining us on this journey and for choosing to be part of it.
